Students, staff shave heads to raise money for cancer research

 Hundreds of people volunteered to make major changes to their appearance, and it was all to raise money for childhood cancer research.

More than 250 volunteers got their heads shaved for the annual Saint Baldrick's "Be Brave and Go Bald" event.

This was the sixth annual St. Baldrick's event in Reno. Every year groups of locals, along with people all over the world, find sponsors who donate to cancer research so they can get their heads shaved.

It is a show of solidarity for those suffering, but it is also about raising awareness.

All the members of Team Tyler got their heads shaved to show support for anyone affected by the disease.

All the volunteers had their own reasons for sacrificing their hairdos, even some of the youngest ones.

Of course there were lots of men sporting bald heads, but there were also plenty of women.
